Water? Hydration? Why is drinking water so important to us?

Staying hydrated is vital all throughout the year, however, is most vital in the summer months. According to Health Line, “It is commonly recommended to drink 8-ounce glasses of water per day.”

This is known as the 8X8 Rule.

The average person does not drink this much water daily even though it is the recommended amount.

Water is not only an important aspect of our lifestyle but it also can aid a lot of health benefits such as;

  • Migraines
  • Headaches
  • Constipation
  • Weight Loss
  • Kidney Stones¬†

Water is not the sole cure for these health problems, however, they do help with prevention and easing pains.

Is it REALLY a hangover cure though?

We have all been there in the middle of the night after many many hours of heavy drinking, waking up and your throat feeling as dry as the Sahara Desert. And, that feeling of taking the first sip of that cold, crisp ice water literally feels like Heaven on Earth.

According to Health Line, “Alcohol is diuretic”. Meaning that your body loses more water than takes in, which as a result creates dehydration.

Overall, water may not be the most exciting fluid to consume on a daily basis. But, it is vital and important to drink regularly to keep hydrated, energised and to keep you mentally and physically healthy.
